<br />Commission Minutes--September 15, 2004 <br /> <br />2791 <br /> <br />State's Attorney <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to reduce the <br />witnesses travel expense by $3,000. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to reduce travel and <br />per diem by $1,000. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to retain the new <br />attorney and secretary positions. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The board took a five-minute recess at 10:00 AM. <br /> <br />State's Attorney (continued) <br />MOTION, failed <br />Mr. Wagner moved to omit the coffee fund line item of $50. The <br />chairwoman called for a second and hearing none, declared the <br />motion failed. <br /> <br />Sheriff's Department <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to omit one vehicle <br />from the vehicles line item for a reduction of $17,000. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to remove the truck <br />regulatory position for this year, bringing it back in the next budget <br />after the board has an opportunity to consider an ordinance and <br />enforcement for overweight trucks hauling on county roads; <br />however, $20,000 will remain in the budget for a portable scale to <br />begin assessing the number of violations involving overweight <br />vehicles. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />County Jail <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to remove the booking <br />clerk position. The motion carried on a roll call vote with three <br />members voting "Aye"; Mr. Bennett and Mr. Meyer opposing. <br /> <br />County Planninq <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to reduce consulting <br />services by $10,000. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
