<br />Commission Minutes--September 15, 2004 <br /> <br />2790 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />MEETING IN BUDGET SESSION <br />September 15, 2004 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairwoman Robyn Sorum called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM on September 15, <br />2004, in the Commission Room, Cass County Courthouse, with members present as <br />follows: John Meyer, Vern Bennett, Darrell Vanyo, Scott Wagner and Robyn Sorum. <br />Also present were County Auditor Michael Montplaisir, County Coordinator Bonnie <br />Johnson and Accountant Mary Matheson. Several department heads and employees <br />were also present. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVIEW, Adjustments in various departmentslline items <br />Mr. Montplaisir provided a hand-out containing budget items submitted by commissioners <br />for additional discussion, as well as calculation errors that need to be corrected. He <br />suggested approval by consensus and a motion to approve the overall changes at the <br />end. The 2005 county budget is currently at 65 mills and proposed expenditures are <br />$348,739 more than the projected revenues. Commissioners may make changes in line <br />items; however, the budget cannot be increased since the preliminary budget has been <br />approved. A public hearing on the budget is set for 3:30 PM on Monday, September 20th. <br /> <br />Special Assessments-Maple River Dam <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Wagner seconded that $110,000 for <br />county share of special assessments on the Maple River Dam be <br />paid from the county building fund since this is a one-time <br />assessment. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />FarQo Cass Public Health <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to remove the new RN <br />position from the budget of Fargo Cass Public Health for the Cass <br />County jail. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to reduce the FirstLink <br />request concerning volunteer emergency coordination by $5,000. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Information TechnoloQY <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to reduce Webllntranet <br />development consulting by $10,000. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to reduce seminar <br />registration by $4,300. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
