The purpose of the Metro Area Interpreter Coordinating <br />Board created by this agreement is to oversee the work of the metro area Interpreter <br />Services Coordinator and ultimately, to oversee the provision of a coordinated program <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />of training for area English Language interpreters. <br />Board's responsibility will include the following: <br /> <br />2.1. <br /> <br />2.2. <br /> <br />2.3. <br /> <br />2.4. <br /> <br />2.5. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 12 <br /> <br />Specifically, the Coordinating <br /> <br />To provide oversight for the interpreter services coordinator who is to be hired by <br />the City of Fargo on behalf ofthe partner agencies. <br /> <br />To make recommendations for the coordination of English language interpreter <br />training in the metropolitan area. <br /> <br />To comment on any agreements for contractual services greater than $1,000 or <br />service contracts covering a term of greater than one year, into which the <br />Interpreter Coordinator may desire to enter. <br /> <br />To recommend to the governing bodies of member entities a cost allocation plan <br />for costs associated with said interpreter coordination project. <br /> <br />To review evaluative data on interpreter training and services and to provide <br />direction for the further coordination of English language interpreter services in <br /> <br />the metropolitan area. <br /> <br />Joint Powers Agreement <br />Interpreter Coordinator <br />August 2004 <br />
