FLOOD CONTROL, State Water Commission payment to City of Fargo approved During the last three legislative sessions, the state legislature approved a total of $175 million to be spent on flood control costs. This is the 26th request from the City of Fargo. Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, said the reimbursement claim in the amount of $140,900 is the local match on home demolition costs in the Oak Creek neighborhood and home acquisitions south of Mills Fleet Farm in Fargo. MOTION, passed Mr. Peterson moved and Mrs. Scherling seconded to authorize the chairman to sign the approval letter for the State Water Commission to distribute funds in the amount of $140,900 to the City of Fargo pursuant to the terms and conditions of Senate Bill 2020. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 13. VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to approve Voucher No. 277,562 through Voucher No. 277,891. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 14. TRANSPORTATION SECRETARY VISIT; SHERIFF SPACE ANALYSIS STUDY; FURNITURE INVENTORY, Committee reports Mr. Berndt said United States Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx has scheduled two events in Cass County on Thursday, April 24th. The first visit will be held at the Casselton Fire Hall at 2:00 PM to review efforts to improve rail safety; and the second visit will be held at the Cass County Highway Department in West Fargo at 4:00 PM to discuss federal transportation reauthorization efforts. Mr. Berndt said proposals were received from four architectural firms to conduct a space analysis and feasibility study for the Sheriff's Office. He said a Building Committee meeting will be scheduled to review the plans and to conduct interviews with a final recommendation to be provided to the commission. Mr. Berndt will meet with department heads this week to review an inventory of Courthouse furniture, and discuss a proposed replacement plan so the costs are available for 2015 budget purposes. 15. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mr. Peterson moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. - Letters from the Red River Joint Water Resource District (RRJWRD) regarding a request to the four county water boards for two mills to finance the 2015 RRJWRD budget; - Notice of Filing and Opportunity for Hearing from the North Dakota Public Service Commission regarding a request from ALLETE, Inc. to reroute approximately 0.7 miles of existing electric transmission line around a flood control basin in Highland Township, Cass County.
