FLOOD CONTROL, State Water Commission payment to City of Fargo <br /> approved <br /> During the last three legislative sessions, the state legislature approved a total of <br /> $175 million to be spent on flood control costs. This is the 26th request from the City <br /> of Fargo. Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, said the reimbursement claim in the <br /> amount of $140,900 is the local match on home demolition costs in the Oak Creek <br /> neighborhood and home acquisitions south of Mills Fleet Farm in Fargo. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Peterson moved and Mrs. Scherling seconded to authorize the <br /> chairman to sign the approval letter for the State Water <br /> Commission to distribute funds in the amount of $140,900 to the <br /> City of Fargo pursuant to the terms and conditions of Senate Bill <br /> 2020. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> 13. VOUCHERS, Approved <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to approve <br /> Voucher No. 277,562 through Voucher No. 277,891. On roll call <br /> vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> 14. TRANSPORTATION SECRETARY VISIT; SHERIFF SPACE ANALYSIS STUDY; <br /> FURNITURE INVENTORY, Committee reports <br /> Mr. Berndt said United States Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx has scheduled <br /> two events in Cass County on Thursday, April 24th. The first visit will be held at the <br /> Casselton Fire Hall at 2:00 PM to review efforts to improve rail safety; and the second <br /> visit will be held at the Cass County Highway Department in West Fargo at 4:00 PM <br /> to discuss federal transportation reauthorization efforts. <br /> Mr. Berndt said proposals were received from four architectural firms to conduct a <br /> space analysis and feasibility study for the Sheriff's Office. He said a Building <br /> Committee meeting will be scheduled to review the plans and to conduct interviews <br /> with a final recommendation to be provided to the commission. <br /> Mr. Berndt will meet with department heads this week to review an inventory of <br /> Courthouse furniture, and discuss a proposed replacement plan so the costs are <br /> available for 2015 budget purposes. <br /> 15. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Peterson moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion <br /> carried. <br /> - Letters from the Red River Joint Water Resource District (RRJWRD) regarding a <br /> request to the four county water boards for two mills to finance the 2015 <br /> RRJWRD budget; <br /> - Notice of Filing and Opportunity for Hearing from the North Dakota Public Service <br /> Commission regarding a request from ALLETE, Inc. to reroute approximately 0.7 <br /> miles of existing electric transmission line around a flood control basin in Highland <br /> Township, Cass County. <br />
