Fargo, iMoorhead GREATER <br /> Economic Development Corporation <br /> • Assisted the City of Fargo with their role as one of the 38 cities (Casselton and West Fargo are the <br /> other two Cass County cities) participating in the State Small Business Credit Initiative's (SSBCI) ND <br /> Opportunity Fund financing program. GFMEDC serves as the City's representative to the Steering <br /> Committee as well as serves as a member of the Loan Committee. GFMEDC also assists in marketing <br /> this loan program in the area. GFMEDC organized and attended meetings between the Fund <br /> administrators and 48 bankers from 6 local banks. <br /> • Communications with Mayor of Mapleton in regards to a business prospect looking for a specific type of <br /> property. <br /> • Meeting with City of West Fargo economic development staff to share information and marketing <br /> materials about our organization. <br /> • Worked with City of Barnesville on several occasions including RFI assistance, a site visit and a <br /> meeting to learn more about Barnesville. <br /> • Met with a national company evaluating the Greater Fargo-Moorhead market for potential synergies <br /> with the existing medical community. As a follow-up, we shared the information with local hospital <br /> leaders to allow them to gauge their interest. <br /> • Assisted local company looking for guidance on research and development of a new product. <br /> • Assisted City of Kindred EDA in a question regarding financing options for a local business. <br /> • Participated with ND Dept. of Commerce and ND Tax Office to assist a regional company as they <br /> determine where to locate and construct a new facility. <br /> • Meeting with Jared Stober, ND Dept. of Commerce and Chuck Wolfe, Claggett Wolfe Associates <br /> regarding Innovate ND program. <br /> • Assisted the City of Casselton in developing a business information document to include with their <br /> website and any applicable inquiries. <br /> • Met with City of Moorhead staff to discuss utilization and promotion of their Business Park. Also <br /> facilitated a meeting with a site selector consultant. <br /> • Responded to several non-primary sector companies looking to expand into our community. Shared <br /> community information as well as applicable municipality contacts. <br /> • Participated in discussions with the ND Dept. of Commerce regarding potential collaboration on <br /> upcoming tradeshows and conferences. <br /> • Assisting ND Dept. of Commerce in an action plan to target a new industry. <br /> • Hosted a municipality committee meeting with several local municipalities to discuss economic <br /> development efforts and gather input. <br /> • Worked with City of West Fargo, assisting them with a community development opportunity. <br /> • Facilitated and attended four meetings for IT company considering Fargo-Moorhead as a potential <br /> expansion location. The meetings allowed the company to visit with IT industry peers and have <br /> discussions regarding doing business in the area. <br /> • Met with Governor Dalrymple and Ron Rauschenberger regarding an attraction prospect. <br /> • Assisted a new non-profit organization in locating applicable contacts for a next stage in their process. <br /> • Had lunch with the owner (and his wife) of a business that recently located a second facility in Fargo, to <br /> welcome them to the community, discuss GFMEDC and primary sector, and help get them connected <br /> to the area. <br /> • Visited with the two founders of a local software product currently in development. We connected them <br /> with several contacts for assistance relevant to their stage of business and needs. <br /> • Visited with the founder of a cell phone accessory product. We shared several contacts for assistance <br /> and initiated a meeting with the founder and an experienced entrepreneur to provide guidance. <br /> • Attended the press conference announcing a new clinical trials research company to Dilworth. Met with <br /> company officials. <br />
