Organized <br /> and participated in kickoff meeting and press conference. Attended subsequent steering committee <br /> meetings, and assisted in scheduling interviews and charrettes with community and business leaders <br /> for VPP project consultants. Retained Fourth Economy Consulting to consult with VPP Steering <br /> Committee. <br /> • Jim Gartin presented at The Chamber's 2013 Economic Outlook Forum. <br /> • Assisted ND Department of Commerce with information regarding specific industry support services. <br /> • Discussed potential partnership with MSUM's economics department to expand the economic <br /> indicators series. Will also discuss the opportunity with NDSU and Concordia. <br /> • Attended IEDC annual conference. <br /> • Responded to inquiries from thirty-seven organizations/individuals regarding demographics, <br /> employment, wage, local market and real estate information. <br /> Objective 6: Development campaign <br /> • Held GFMEDC Annual Meeting for Investors on April 25th at the Holiday Inn. <br /> • Meetings and presentations with groups/business leaders regarding potential GFMEDC investment. <br /> Objective 7: Marketing and communications <br /> • Participated in more than 300 meetings with GFMEDC investors and community partners. <br /> • GFMEDC integrated the CareerFM website into the EDC website. <br /> • The GFMEDC marketing activities include a monthly electronic newsletter, a blog and an annual report. <br /> The GFMEDC also released the 2013 Images Fargo Moorhead Magazine and worked on the 2014 <br /> edition, available for release early 2014. Marketing activities also include social media platforms and <br /> campaigns to drive traffic to the GFMEDC website. Facebook campaign increased fans/likes, <br /> exceeding goal of 2,000. <br /> • Presented an overview of the GFMEDC to the Chamber Leadership Class. <br /> • Met with local news directors and leaders to tell them about GFMEDC projects and initiatives. <br /> • Participated in interviews for local and regional media. <br /> • GFMEDC sponsored the Midwest Mobile Summit. <br /> • GFMEDC staff made multiple trips to Bismarck to support flood diversion issues in the legislature. <br /> • Hosted and lead the planning efforts for the EDND spring conference in Fargo June17-19th. The event <br /> included tours of Microsoft and the NDSU Greenhouses followed by a walking tour of Downtown Fargo. <br /> • Met with Downtown Community Partnership <br /> • Met with Lake Agassiz Planning Council <br /> • Shared employment information along with community quality of life materials with a local organization <br /> as they work on their search process to replace a position. <br /> • Spoke before Mud Run at Mapleton's Happy Days <br /> • Participated in planning meetings for the United Way Kickoff Event, where Jim Gartin was a presenter. <br /> • Participated in the planning committee and helped serve as a greeter for the Health Pitch event which <br /> was held on August 15. Also attended dinner for speakers and partners the night prior to the event. <br /> Participated in the post-event debriefing to evaluate the most recent event and plan for the next event. <br /> • Attended ND Chamber Congressional Policy Summit. <br /> • Gathering information to create a page on our website to provide general information about the various <br /> religions and faith opportunities in the region. <br />
