Commission Minutes—December 2, 2013 4238 <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Peterson moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the expenses <br /> for the Flood Diversion Board of Authority in the amount of $138,413.12 <br /> and to remit $15,379.24 for Cass County's share of cash flow to cover <br /> Minnesota receivables for the month of November, 2013. On roll call <br /> vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> 14. VOUCHERS, Approved <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to approve Voucher No. <br /> 274,917 through Voucher No. 275,128. On roll call vote, the motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> 15. FLOOD DIVERSION UPDATE; TOWNSHIP OFFICERS MEETING; PROPERTY TAX <br /> RELIEF AND TAX STATEMENTS, Committee reports <br /> Mr. Berndt said design work continues to move forward on the Oxbow/Hickson/Bakke ring <br /> levee as part of the diversion project. Also, he has received positive feedback from federal <br /> congressional officials regarding final passage of the Water Resources Development Act <br /> (WRDA) bill before the end of the year. Approval of the legislation will provide federal <br /> authorization for the diversion project. <br /> Mrs. Scherling said she and other county officials attended the annual fall Township <br /> Officers' Association meeting held on November 26th in Casselton. <br /> Mr. Montplaisir provided copies of the 2014 Budget in Brief to commissioners, which <br /> includes an extensive explanation of the property tax relief bills passed by the North Dakota <br /> State Legislature. He also provided sample copies of 2014 tax statements, which use a <br /> new layout and provide a section on legislative tax relief. The statements will be mailed this <br /> week to county residents. <br /> 16. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Peterson moved and Mrs. Scherling seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> - Letter from the North Dakota Department of Health regarding a permit to transport solid <br /> waste for Northern Improvement Company. <br /> 17.
