Commission Minutes November 18, 2013 4228 REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS NOVEMBER 18, 2013 1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER Chairman Vern Bennett called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as follows: Chad M. Peterson, Ken Pawluk, Darrell Vanyo, Mary Scherling, and Vern Bennett. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Heather Worden led the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Peterson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. 4. AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Scherling seconded to approve the order of the agenda with the addition of two contracts for deed and four quit claim deeds for tax forfeited properties; Personnel Overview Committee action to hire above the minimum pay grade; and purchase order for a truck to the consent agenda. Motion carried. 5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the consent agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. a. Receive the monthly financial statement from the Auditor's Office for the month ended October 31, 2013. b. Authorize the chairman and county auditor to sign a satisfaction of contract for deed and quit claim deed for a tax forfeited property in West Fargo; a contract for deed with Calvin and Stephanie Volk to repurchase their home at 458 North Sedona Drive, West Fargo for the amount of back taxes, specials, drains, penalties, interest, and fees in the amount of $33,182.25 with a $8,500 down payment and $790 per month for 36 months with interest at 3.25 which is the prime rate at the Bank of North Dakota; a contract for deed with David and Sharon Erickson to repurchase their home at 54 28 Avenue NE, Fargo for the amount of $11,384.29 with a $2,850 down payment and $275 per month for 36 months with interest at 3.25 which is the prime rate at the Bank of North Dakota; two quit claim deeds for tax forfeited properties in Fargo redeemed by the former owners; and two quit claim deeds for tax forfeited properties in Reed Township redeemed by the former owners. c. Approve a raffle permit for Triple C 4 -H Club to be held January 6, 2014, at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds in West Fargo, North Dakota. d. Contract approval Steven Mottinger, Jay Greenwood, and Ottmar Ottmar Law Firm public defender contracts for 2014.
