SUBJECT: MICROCOMPUTER /MINICOMPUTER POLICIES AND USAGE 2.70 <br /> PAGE 2 OF 3 <br /> The use of proprietary software which is not the property of <br /> Cass County on any computing devices belonging to Cass County <br /> is prohibited unless authorized to do so. <br /> The safeguarding of hardware and software assigned is the <br /> responsibility of the individual. <br /> The staff assigned the proprietary software, will abide by the <br /> contractual agreements between the vendor of the proprietary <br /> software and Cass County. They will also sign and date the <br /> microcomputer /minicomputer release form. <br /> PC NETWORK AS /400 USAGE <br /> Data and software which reside on Cass County's PC network and IBM <br /> AS /400 are the property of Cass County. Intentional or unintentional <br /> use, alteration or deletion by unauthorized personnel is prohibited. <br /> Therefore, Cass County personnel should not connect any computing devices <br /> to the Cass County PC network and IBM AS /400 without written approval of <br /> the Information Technology Department. This prohibition includes both <br /> direct (cabled) connection and connection via a communications link. <br /> Passwords and User IDs used to access the PC network and AS /400 are <br /> confidential and should not be written down or shared with other <br /> personnel without prior authorization from the Information Technology <br /> Department. If Cass County personnel have any question regarding these <br /> guidelines, they should contact the Information Technology Department. <br /> Cass County personnel who violate any of these guidelines are subject to <br /> disciplinary actions or dismissal. <br />
