ire Ul <br /> CASS COUNTY <br /> PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL 2.70 <br /> SUBJECT: MICROCOMPUTER /MINICOMPUTER POLICIES AND USAGE <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE: March 7, 1994 PAGE 1 OF 3 <br /> MICROCOMPUTER /MINICOMPUTER POLICIES <br /> Microcomputers, minicomputers and peripheral equipment acquired by <br /> Cass County will only be used for: <br /> office administration; <br /> training; and <br /> other professional activities related to the above. <br /> Only employees of Cass County are authorized, after completing a <br /> training session, to use this hardware. <br /> MICROCOMPUTER AND MINICOMPUTER SOFTWARE USAGE <br /> Cass County has acquired the right to use several proprietary <br /> software packages. A license agreement governs the use of the software. <br /> People who use the proprietary software should be aware of the <br /> agreements between the vendor and Cass County. Each person using <br /> proprietary software purchased by Cass County is responsible for <br /> protection against any violation of the software license agreements. <br /> Typically, the agreement states the uses which are NOT permitted, such <br /> as: <br /> making copies of the user's manual; <br /> making copies of the system diskettes, unless specifically <br /> told to do so in the documentation; <br /> making alterations to the software source code; or <br /> providing use of the software in a multiple CPU or user <br /> arrangement to users who are not individually licensed. <br /> Violation of any part of these agreements may create legal and <br /> financial liabilities for Cass County and the responsible individual(s). <br /> The following conditions govern the use and care of microcomputer <br /> and minicomputer hardware and software assigned to Cass County staff: <br /> The hardware and software will only be used for the benefit of <br /> Cass County. <br /> The improper reproduction of proprietary software by any means <br /> is prohibited. <br />
