Commission Minutes November 4, 2013 4223 <br /> REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> NOVEMBER 4, 2013 <br /> 1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Vern Bennett called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br /> follows: Chad M. Peterson, Ken Pawluk, Mary Scherling, Vern Bennett, and Darrell Vanyo <br /> via conference call. <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> Heather Worden led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 3. MINUTES APPROVED <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Scherling moved and Mr. Peterson seconded that the minutes of the <br /> previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> 4. AGENDA, Order approved <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to approve the order of <br /> the agenda with the addition of a purchase order to the consent agenda; <br /> and a request for a deputy position for court transport and 24/7 program, <br /> endorsement of property purchase for Red River Regional Dispatch <br /> Center, purchase of a flood prone property in Chrisan Subdivision, and <br /> Flood Diversion monthly billing to the regular agenda. Motion carried. <br /> 5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to approve the consent <br /> agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> a. Authorize the chairman to sign a purchase order with Nelson Auto Center in the <br /> amount of $22,469.42 for a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan for the motor pool fleet; <br /> and authorize the chairman to sign a purchase order with RDO Equipment Co. in <br /> the amount of $5,400.00 for a Road Department mower. <br /> b. Authorize the chairman and county auditor to sign a quit claim deed for tax <br /> forfeited property in the City of Casselton redeemed by the former owner. <br /> c. Contract approval <br /> Cities of Casselton, Mapleton, Horace and Kindred renewal of police service <br /> agreements for 2014. <br /> 6. TAX FORFEITED PROPERTY, Hearing on appraisal <br /> Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, said today is the date and time advertised for a public <br /> hearing on the appraisal of tax forfeited property. The tax sale will be held Tuesday, <br /> November 19, 2013, beginning at 10:00 AM. He said currently there are 11 properties on <br /> the list. <br /> The chairman opened the public hearing. Hearing no comments, the public hearing was <br /> closed. <br />
