These locations can then be announced in evacuation instructions issued by the Public <br /> Information Officer. Residents will be instructed to go to the assembly areas for transportation. <br /> Evacuation Options <br /> Residents will evacuate using a variety of methods depending on the magnitude of the disaster <br /> area or available modes of transportation. These modes range from walking out of a contained <br /> disaster area, to use of personally owned vehicles, to use of buses or other forms of public <br /> conveyance. <br /> Evacuation Routes <br /> In a large scale disaster emergency, able individuals with access to transportation will be directed <br /> to evacuate away from the affected area. Evacuation routes will be identified and communicated <br /> via the media or the county warning system by the Incident Commander, the EOC, or the <br /> Emergency Management Office, as appropriate. <br /> The Cass County Evacuation Route map is attached at the end of this annex and listed on Cass <br /> Fargo Emergency Management Web site. <br /> Methods of Transportation <br /> The primary mode of evacuation will be via privately owned vehicles. Public transportation may <br /> be accessed upon request of Incident Command. These resources consist of publicly owned <br /> transit and school buses supplemented by transit vehicles owned and operated by local agencies <br /> and organizations. <br /> Transportation Resources: <br /> Public transportation resources for evacuation include school buses, public transit, ambulances <br /> medical transit, and Fargo Senior Commission buses and vans. <br /> See Resource List (Appendix III) <br /> Health Care Transportation <br /> Seriously medically disabled individuals including some in nursing homes or hospitals may pose <br /> special transportation problems. Fargo Cass Public Health will coordinate triage to determine <br /> special transportation needs. F -M Ambulance is the primary resource for medical transport. <br /> See MOU between F M Ambulance and Cass County Emergency Management (Appendix IV) <br /> Evacuation Movement Control Procedures <br /> Evacuation control will be assigned by Incident Command or the EOC. Control functions will <br /> be accomplished by law enforcement, fire, or other agencies as dictated by the Emergency <br /> Operations Plan.
