WEED CONTROL BOARD MEETING JANUARY 10, 2022 MEETING TO ORDER A meeting of the Cass County Weed Control Board was called to order at 9:30am on Monday, <br />January 10, 2022 in the Weed Control office building. ROLL CALL Present were Larry Wilcox, Ken Hagen and Marty Murch. Clayton Brennan and George Grossman were absent. Stanley Wolf, Cass County Weed Control Officer was also present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />MOTION, passed Mr. Murch moved, and Mr. Hagen seconded to approve the meeting minutes from Monday, December 13, 2021 and the special meeting minutes from Monday, January 3, 2022. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF AGENDA ORDER <br />MOTION, passed. Mr. Hagen moved, and Mr. Murch seconded to approve the agenda order. 1. APPROVAL OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND BILLS Mr. Wolf provided documents from the Cass County Financial Department for December 2021 financial statements and check registers. MOTION, passed Mr. Magen moved, and Mr. Murch seconded to approve December 2021 financial statements and bills. Motion carried. <br />2. NEW BUSINESS a. 2022 Spray Contacts Mr. Wolf posted a legal ad in the Fargo Forum to run on January 12th and January <br />19th. Mr. Wolf also sent the bid information to Walker and J&J. Both contractors like the direction this is going to defray costs. Now, Mr. Wolf is trying to secure storage at the Cass County Highway Department, Vector Control building or other available <br />spaces for chemicals until April 2022, then will be able to store into the Weed Control storage. The herbicide supplier cannot hold purchased products till spring, purchaser must take delivery at time of purchase. February 7, 2022 will be the review and set bid <br />opening date, and February 14, 2022 will be to award the bid. b. NDWCA Conference <br />Recap of NDWCA conference and association board meetings. c. Noxious Weed Task Force This task force is meeting in Bismarck, ND on January 19, 2022. It is unknown if Mr. Wolf will be invited to attend this meeting. There is a hope to develop a collaboration with NDSU to help push funding. Dr. Quincy Law, Noxious Weed Specialist, to fund program with grants. There is 25% of the state that is in prairie and does not include right of way. d. Other Commissioner Mary Scherling has been assigned the Weed Control portfolio under <br />the Planning & Operation Services portfolio.
