The next scheduled meeting of the Weed Board is to be <br />held on Monday September 13, 2021 at 10 am. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Weed Control Progress Report August 2, 2021 <br /> <br />Period from June 14 to July 6, 2021 submitted by Stan Wolf <br /> <br /> <br />Monthly Report: <br /> <br />2022 Proposed Budget: The Proposed 2021 Weed Control Budget was <br />presented to the County Commission on August 21. The Commission approved <br />the budget as presented and accepted the recommendation of lowering the mill <br />levy to 1.2 mills. Commissioner Scherling expressed her commendation of the <br />Weed Board’s dedication and longevity of service the board members are <br />exhibiting. <br /> <br /> <br />Spotted Hemlock Bio-control agents: Weed Control staff continued to scout <br />cattail sites across the county and has found additional sites where Spotted <br />hemlock was found. Several sites were located south-east of Erie with one site <br />north of Erie near the county border. Three Spotted hemlock bio-control insect <br />collections (Poison hemlock defoliating moth pupae) were ordered and released, <br />one each in Davenport, Erie, and Empire townships. The total cost of the insects <br />came to $520.00. <br />
