<br />Commission Minutes--February 1, 1999 1930 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FEBRUARY 1, 1999 <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Robbie Quick called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Paul Koenig, John Meyer, Alon Wieland, Donna Schneider and Robbie Quick. <br /> <br />2. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting of January 19, 1999, be approved as written. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve the order of <br />the agenda with the following changes: 1) application for raffle permit <br />withdrawn by Four Corners Wildlife Club; 2) add contract for indigent <br />defendants in mental health proceedings and mental health public <br />defender contract; 3) ratify Social Service Board action of February 1, <br />1999; and 4) adopt Resolution #1999-2 honoring Joyce Schepp for 30 <br />years of service as the Cass County Commission Secretary. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />4. PERMIT FOR RAFFLE, West Fargo Exchange Club <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve raffle <br />permit for West Fargo Exchange Club to be held on April 16, 1999, at <br />Bonanzaville in West Fargo, North Dakota. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />5. GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS), Grant aoplication aooroved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the <br />chair to sign the application for GIS start-up grant program. On roll <br />call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Authorization for two additional oart-time correctional officers <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the <br />Sheriff's Department to recruit and hire two temporary part-time <br />correctional officers as requested and outlined in a letter from Sheriff <br />Rudnick; and that the first position be filled until July 1, 1999, and the <br />second position be filled until May 1, 1999 and possibly extended <br />through the rest of the summer months to assist with inmate <br />recreation activities. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />
