Commission Minutes--February 5, 1996 1431 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> FEBRUARY 5, 1996 <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint called the meeting to order at 3:45 PM with all members <br />present as follows: Don Eckert, Alon Wieland, Donna Schneider, Bernie Ness and Sharon <br />"Pepper" Toussaint. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the <br /> previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve order of the <br /> agenda with the addition of Fargo-Moorhead Family YMCA application <br /> for MIDA Bond financing to the regular agenda for consideration with <br /> Bethany Homes MIDA Bond application; and moving Veteran's Service <br /> Officer hiring from consent to the regular agenda. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VETERAN'S SERVICE ASSISTANCE, Commendation letter to Ray Harkem= <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize chairman to <br /> sign commendation letter to Ray Harkema, Department of Veterans <br /> Affairs, for his assistance in screening, interviewing and selection of <br /> the newly hired County Veteran's Service Officer. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. Mr. Harkema was present to receive the <br /> letter, and he thanked the commission on behalf of the county's <br /> veterans, saying they can be proud to be represented by such <br /> commissioners. The recent study shows concern by commissioners <br /> for the monetary expenditure of the taxpayers of this county, he said. <br /> Chairman Toussaint also thanked the other members of the interview <br /> team, Mr. Wieland and Kathy Hogan. <br /> <br />AUDITOR REQUEST, Presidential contest/desig_nate inspector, pollin_; place <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to appoint Richard <br /> McGarvey as precinct inspector; to designate the polling place as <br /> Fargo Civic Center in Centennial Hall, and to determine the polling <br /> hours will be from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on February 27th for the 1996 <br /> Presidential Primary Contest.
