Minutes--January 6, 1992 796 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JANUARY 6, 1992 <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />Gene Shannon called the meeting to order with all members present as <br />follows: Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint, Steve Risher, Alon Wieland, Don <br />Eckert and Gene Shannon. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint <br />minutes of the <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve the <br />order of the agenda as amended, to include ratifying action <br />of the Human Resource Overview Committee from their meeting <br />earlier today. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. APPOINTMENT OF CHAIR/VICE CHAIR, Wieland/Toussaint <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to appoint <br />Commissioner Alon Wieland as Chairman and Commissioner <br />Sharon Toussaint as Vice Chairman of the Cass County Board <br />of Commissioners for 1992. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. Mr. Shannon then handed the gavel to <br />Mr. Wieland to proceed as Chairman. <br /> <br />5. PORTFOLIOS, Assigned for 1992 <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Alon <br />Wieland's portfolio will continue to be Sheriff, Jail, <br />Juvenile Center, Disaster Emergency Services; Pepper <br />Toussaint's portfolio will be Social Services; <br />Commissioner Don Eckert's portfolio will be Roads, Bridges, <br />Planning and Maintenance; Commissioner Gene Shannon t s <br />portfolio will be Auditor, Treasurer, Tax Assessor, Levy <br />Audit, Register of Deeds, Data Processing, Human Resources, <br />Judicial, Law, States Attorney; and Commissioner Steve <br />Risher's portfolio will be Extension Service, <br />Superintendent of Schools, Veterans Service, Central <br />Purchasing, Child Enforcement and Clerk of District Court. <br />On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. PLEDGE OF ASSETS, BANK DEPOSITORIES, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve the <br />pledge of assets and designate bank depositories submitted <br />by the Cass County Treasurer as follows: On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />
