Minutes--March 4, 1991 633 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MARCH 4, 1991 (MONDAY) <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Gene Shannon called the meeting to order with all members <br />present as follows: Don Eckert, Steve Risher, Gene Shannon, Sharon <br />"Pepper" Toussaint and Alon Wieland. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Risher seconded that the minutes <br /> of the previous meeting be approved as written· Motion <br /> carried· <br /> <br />AUDITOR, Staff Commendation to Michael Montplaisir MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Risher seconded to send a letter <br /> of commendation as read by Commissioner Alon Wieland to <br /> Auditor Michael Montplaisir. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously· <br /> <br />BEER LICENSE/SUNDAY SALES ENDORSEMENT, Approved for The Shooting Park <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Risher seconded to approve a 1991 <br /> County beer license and Sunday sales endorsement for John <br /> Lawrence Nelson d/b/a The Shooting Park located in Warren <br /> Township. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />LOST INSTRUMENT BOND, Walburg Township <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Risher seconded to receive and <br /> file the Indemnity Bond for Lost Instrument to William W. <br /> Martin, Walburg Township Treasurer, and authorize the <br /> auditor to issue a duplicate check. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />SOCIAL SERVICES, Out of state travel approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Risher seconded to approve Social <br /> Services out of state travel request dated February 21st <br /> for two foster parents to attend the national convention in <br /> Minneapolis, MN May 8-11, 1991. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VOTING PRECINCTS IN 22ND DISTRICT, Suggestion to combine several <br />Auditor Michael Montplaisir received a request from Gerald Moderow, <br />Chairman of the 22nd District Democratic NPL party, and from Ralph <br />Thompson, Chairman of the 22nd District Republican party, to combine <br />the following voting precincts in the 22nd district: Watson Township <br />with the City of Leonard; Empire Township with Ayr; Wheatland Township <br />with Casselton; Cornell, Hill and Tower Townships with Tower City. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said this will save tax dollars by reducing the number <br />of election officials. Mr. Wieland suggested that the county approve <br />combining voting precincts as recommended, subject to approval of the <br />entities involved. Mr. Eckert asked to delay approval to allow for <br />comments from the entities involved. <br /> <br /> <br />
