INVESTIGATION OF ABATEMENT APPLICATION

ABATEMENT NO. 4228

Following is a report on the investigation o£ the abatement application off Dan Geray

Cass County Board of Commissioners and State Tax Commissioner:

The applicant is asking that the valuation be reduced from $36,500 to $5,200 on a rural Harwood
tract for the year 2002. He indicated that he pnrchased the property from I-IIJD for $5,200 in
May, 2002.

The Harwood Twp board recommended approval oft. he abatement.

The property consists of 1.09 acres and contains a dilapidated house and gm-age. The property
has no power and is subject to severe flooding. The buildings will most likely be tom down. It's
unclear whether this will be a future building site. It would appear that additional acreage would
need to be acquired before improvements could be located here.

SUGGESTED MOTION: "I move that Abatement g4228 be approved, as recommended
by Harwood Twp and the Director of Equalization."

Dated this 19th day of September, 2002.

Francis Klein
Director of Tax Equalization
