Motion carried. <br />I <br />I The Board convened as the County Board of Tax Equalization. The first order of business <br />I was the equalization of cities and the second order of business was the equalization of <br />itownships. Clarence Miller, County Director of Tax Equalization, was present and stated <br />: that he will not be recommending any changes this year in the cities or the townships <br />ibecause the assessments are very close to the amounts recommended by_the State. <br /> <br />il Attorney Joel Johnson appeared before the County Board of Equalization representing <br />,Mr. William Allen who owns property in the City of Fargo described as Lots 10, 11 and 12, <br />I Goodman's Subdivision, and he is concerned about the substantial increase in the <br />iappraised value on these lots. Mr. Johnson stated that Mr. Allen was unable to attend <br />'I the Fargo Board of Equalization meeting held in April. Mr. Miller recommended that any <br />adjustments, if warranted, should be handled by the City of Fargo. Then the abatement <br />!process can be followed if an adjustment is to be made. <br /> <br />: Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to accept the assessments of the cities <br />i and townships in Cass County as equalized by the local boards of equalization. <br />iOn roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />[ <br />i Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Larson seconded to adjourn the County Board of <br />!Equalization for 1982. Motion carried. <br />i <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The meeting was ~alled back to order as the regular County Board meeting. <br /> <br />Three department heads from the Cass County Annex building appeared in regard to <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant the application for a dance permit <br />to the Absaraka Centennial Committee to hold a street dance on the date of June 26, 1982 <br />at Absaraka, North Dakota. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant a Site Authorization Permit <br />to St. Benedict's Church at Wild Rice to hold games of chance at St. Benedict's Church <br />for the period of July 1, 1982 through June 30, 1983. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />A letter was received from the City Auditor of Alice, North Dakota, registering <br />complaints by Alice residents living along Cass County Highway 38 regarding excessive <br />speed by vehicles traveling through the city. The matter was delayed until the County <br />Road Superintendent is present and also the County Sheriff. <br /> <br />Dance Permit for i Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant the application for a dance permit <br />Arthur Centennia] to Herbert C. Johnson for the Arthur Centennial dance to be held on June 19, 1982 at <br />granted I Herb Johnson's Barn near Arthur.
