<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />. ~.,~c.'-...:.....o.,,~:..:.~..:~l,~.~~~~~~..;-~~~':.~;;~~~~-:..~.~E:....:.:~" '____-==;:"_.,.:...-.-_-=~==--- "_'_'_.__~n <br /> <br />5951 <br /> <br />Sheriff Don Rudnick appeared before the Board to explain the accreditation process <br />of the American Medical Association which is now being conducted in the Cass County Jail. <br />The Board commended the Sheriff for being alert to the problems that arise. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Vouchers No. 11,974 through <br />No. 13,174 and Revenue Sharing Vouchers No. 234, 235 and 236 be approved and ordered paid. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Attorney Fred Kraemer be requested <br />to submit an itemized statement each month of the hours spent for the Public Defender <br />System for which the County pays a monthly rate. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Correspondence was received from Leo C. O'Brien concerning clean-up of the Red River <br />and construction of a combination bridge and dam on North Broadway. Mrs. Stanton <br />stated that she attended a meeting of the Fargo Park District, and they are concerned <br />about the river bank by the Edgewood Golf Course and Club House. Chairman Hendrickson <br />asked Mrs. Stanton to respond to Mr. O'Brien's letter; and he will bring up the matter <br />at the next meeting of the Metropolitan Council of Governments. <br /> <br />The Board discussed the 1981 suggested portfolio assignments. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Stanton and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the meeting was adjourned'. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JANUARY 14, 1981 <br /> <br />Chairman Hendrickson called the meeting to order and four members were present, <br />Mrs. Wold being absent. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larsoh seconded that Steve Grindberg, County Road <br />Superintendent, be authorized to attend the North Dakota County Engineers Convention <br />at the Bismarck Holiday Inn on February 25-27, 1981. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Board will meet with the Road Superintendent on January 28th at 1:30 P.M. <br />at the County Shop to discuss the proposed road construction program and needed bridge <br />repair or replacement. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that a gambling permit be granted <br />to the Buffalo Community Club for pulltabs and punchboards at The Bison Steakhouse & Lounge <br />in Tower Township on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning February 13 through <br />March 28, 1981. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded that a gambling permit be granted to the <br />Erie American Legion Club for raffles, pulltabs and punchboards at the Legion Club <br />in Erie, North Dakota, on March 27, 1981. On roll ca~l vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the States Attorney be authorized <br />out of state travel on January 19-22, 1981, to attend part of a seminar in San Hose, <br />California, on sexual abuse of children; and that Rainer Lobitz from the Cass County <br />Social Services Office be authorized to attend this seminar from January 19-30, 1981. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Jensen, County Social Services Director, was present and stated that <br />two major bills which are being proposed to the North Dakota Legislature concerning <br />Social Services will be in committee hearings on Thursday and Friday mornings of this <br />week. He stated that he will be present at the committee hearings to speak on behalf <br />of the counties, and Mr. Larson stated that he will talk to the 3 Cass County Legislators <br />who are on that committee to convey Cass County's feelings. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the 1981 Portfolio Assignments <br />be aocepted as corrected. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the County Auditor be authorized <br />to pay Estimate #7 to J. E. Krieg and Sons in the amount of $59,955.00 on the <br />Courthouse Addition. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Board receive and file the <br />Indemnity Bond on Lost Instrument for Nancy Jean Sornsin, and authorize the Auditor <br />to issue a duplicate check.
