"Ailiio-;il:-.E.-i2iiiI!l" <br /> <br />'-4~ <br />I <br /> <br />Discussion was held on advertising for bids for gasoline to fill the underground tank <br />: which was installed on the lot at the Juvenile Justice Center for the County-owned patrol <br />cars operated by the Sheriff's Department. Mr. Larson suggested placing an advertisement <br />in the newspaper for anyone interested in delivering gasoline to the County, and that the <br />County Auditor call these dealers for a bid price when the tank needs to be filled. <br />The Auditor stated that the County must advertise for bids in the official newspaper <br />,on any purchase over $2,500, and the first publication must be at least 30 days prior <br />i to opening the bids. The Auditor will discuss the matter with the States Attorney <br />before the meeting tomorrow. <br /> <br />Correspondence was received from Dean Hildebrand, Chairman of the North Dakota <br />National Guard Association Legislative Committee, requesting the Board's assistance <br />in defeating proposed legislation which would reduce from 30 days to 15 days the amount <br />of time that a member of the North Dakota National Guard would remain in paid status by <br />a state or political subdivision when ordered to military duty. Copies of the letter <br />will be given to each commissioner. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Stanton and seconded by Mr. Larson, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JANUARY 7, 1981 (WEDNESDAY) <br /> <br />Chairman Hendrickson called the meeting to order and four members were present, <br />iMrs. Wold being absent. <br />I <br />: Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />i be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion was held with Cynthia Rothe, States Attorney, on the purchase of gasoline <br />, for the Sheriff Department's underground fuel tank. She stated that the County <br />: presently has a contract with Dan's Oil and Service for bulk fuel through the <br />. Road Department which is binding until the end of February, 1981; and the County is not <br />! limited in quantity under that contract. Mr. Larson stated that he contacted Dan's Oil, <br />: and they will charge the County 49 per gallon over and above his cost for unleaded gasoline. <br />! He suggested ordering a transport load for the present time. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the County include calling for bids <br />I for gasoline for the Sheriff's Department along with the Road Department's annual call <br />! for bids, and that the suppliers be notified that the County will be taking advantage <br />: of discounts. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />I <br /> <br />Aud. auth. to! Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that che County Auditor be authorized <br />pay bills during: to pay any bills which come in to his office on which the County can take advantage of <br />mo. for disc. ! a discount. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Bd. determined I Regarding the appointments of John Meyer as Veterans Service Officer and <br />to eliminate I Gordon Sletmoe as Disaster Emergency Services Director, the County Auditor stated <br />the annual apptsj that it has been a practice of the Board to make these appointments annually but there <br />of VSO and i is nothing in the law that requires it. The Board determined to eliminate these two <br />DES Directors I annual appointments. <br /> <br />Appts. to Co. i Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Keith Monilaws and Wayne Kyser <br />Park Board !I be appointed to the County Park Board for 1981. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />I unanimously. <br /> <br />1 Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Commissioner Eckert be appointed <br />I to the County Planning Commission. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Appt. to Co. <br />Planning Comm. <br /> <br />Appt. to Co. i Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Commissioner Larson be appointed <br />Social Servo Bd.i to the County Social Services Board. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br />Mrs. Wold apptd.i Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Commissioner Wold be nominated <br />Vice Chm. i as Vice Chairman of the Cass County Commission for 1981. Mrs. Stanton moved and <br />I Mr. Eckert seconded that the nominations cease and a unanimous ballot be cast for <br />I Mrs. Wold. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Disc. on ditch I Discussion was held with Lloyd Knight and Leo Baumler from the Amenia Township Board <br />problem in i of Supervisors regarding erosion of a ditch in the SE\ of the SE\ of Section 18, Amenia _ <br />Amenia Twp--Comm; Township. Also present were Ordean Jacobson, RC & D Coordinator, and the Soil Conservation <br />to write letter : District Supervisor from West Fargo. The Board reviewed the engineering plans developed <br />of support on i by the Soil Conservation Service for installing culverts and attempting to stabilize <br />the project ' the soil in this critically eroding area. Mr. Jacobson stated that the township has <br />: applied for a loan through the Farmers Home Administration for this project, and they are <br />! requesting a letter of approval from the Cass County Commission. The township is not <br />asking for financial support from the County. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded <br />. that the County Commission send a letter to the Amenia Township Board of Supervisors <br />i with a copy to the Farmers Home Administration indicating the Board's support of the <br />i project. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
