<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />Upon the request of Sheriff Don Rudnick, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded <br />that a security camera be installed in the female section of the Cass County Jail. <br />The motion carried with the Commission suggesting that the Sheriff make application <br />to the Law Enforcement Council if funds are available for this equipment, which is <br />estimated to cost $1,066.82. <br /> <br />Mr. Lowell Siebels informed the Board that County Road 32 has washed out <br />and he felt that if culverts had been installed last fall, this would not have happened. <br />Mr., Satrom suggested that the matter be referred to the County Road Department. Mrs. Wold <br />felt that the Board should meet with members of the water management boards before doing <br />anything to change drainage. <br /> <br />A man from the delegation which appeared last week was again present regarding their <br />request for the County to blacktop County Road 32 from Absaraka west 7~ miles to <br />State Highway 38. Due to the extensive flood problems and present damage to County roads, <br />the Board has not discussed the matter further at this time. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County furnish approximately <br />600 trash bags to the group from CROP that will be picking up litter along County roads <br />in the Fargo-West Fargo area. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall sec~onded that the gambling permit for the <br />Interstate Gun Club for a raffle to be held on April 28, 1979, be transferred to the date <br />of June 2, 1979, due to the late spring. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Board requested all County Department Heads to appear before the Board and they <br />were instructed to prepare their budgets for the 1979-1980 fiscal year with no bUdgetary <br />increases other than salary increases and the normal inflationary increases for supplies. <br />The Department Heads were in agreement, and the Board set the date of May 9th at 1:00 P.M. <br />to discuss salary increases in order to establish a figure for preparing budgets. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Wold and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />iATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED; <br /> <br />~~~L <br /> <br />Duane E. Palmer Satrom, Chairman <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />REGULAR ~1EETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MAY 1, 1979 <br /> <br />Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were <br />present. <br /> <br />An Invocation was given by Mr. Satrom. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Committee Reports were given. <br /> <br />A letter was received from Attorney Charles Chinquist requesting to meet with the <br />County Commission to discuss the merits of the County contracting with his firm <br />to provide services for indigent persons and persons otherwise needing a Court-appointed <br />attorney. The Board suggested that Mr. Chinquist be placed on the agenda to discuss <br />this further. <br /> <br />A letter was received from the State Auditor's Office informing the Board that the <br />recent audit of the County Court records will be included in the report when they audit <br />the rest of the County again. <br /> <br />The Auditor read a letter from Fargo Sanitarian Goodwin Hoff regarding testing <br />of wells that were submerged during the recent flooding which should be considered unsafe <br />for drinking until they have been tested and disinfected. <br /> <br />A letter was received from the County Sheriff's Office reporting that their rate of <br />recovery of stolen property is 58%, and the national recovery rate is 32% for 1978. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton received a letter from Fargo Mayor Jon Lindgren proposing that the County <br />use about $45,000 of the estimated $95,000 for transportation for senior citizens. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the letter be received and filed and <br />considered at the time that the Board discusses the mill levy for senior citizens. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Wold and seconded by Mr. Hendrickson, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />5853 <br /> <br />. auth. to <br />security <br />camera in female <br />section of Jail <br />I <br /> <br />pisco with Lowell <br />Siebels on culvert <br />on C32 <br />1 <br /> <br />Disc. on request <br />recd. last week <br />for blacktopping <br />C32 from Absaraka <br /> <br />County to furnish <br />trash bags for <br />group to pick up <br />litter <br /> <br />Date of gambling <br />permit transferred <br /> <br />Dept.
