I MARCH 7, 1979 (WEDNESDAY) ; Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and four members were present, !Mr. Hendrickson being absent. -- .~. ..-.- ..~'...,- REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS An Invocation was given by Mr. Satrom. , Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes of the previous I meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. I ! C~ty o~ North. Upon the recommendation of Gordon Sletmoe, Disaster Emergency Services Director, R~ver ~ncluded ~nIMrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the City of North River be included County's Disaster, in Cass County's Disaster Emergency Plan. Motion carried. Emergency Plan I Gambling Permit: Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that a gambling permit be issued to the to Wheatland IWheatland Centennial Commission for June 23 and 24, 1979, with the raffle drawing Centennial Comm. ! to be held on June 24th. Motion carried. Letter from Cass The Chairman read a letter from Willard Grager of Cass County Electric Cooperative, Inc. Co. Elec. re: i stating that there will be no charge for their assistance to the County on February 27th their assistance iwhen they helped with the ice problem on the roof of the Courthouse. Mrs. Stanton moved to the County i and Mrs. Wold seconded that the letter be received and filed and that a letter be written with ice problem I from the Board thanking them for their assistance and consideration. Motion carried. Copy of letter i ,A copy of a letter was received from Gary Griffeth concerning a snow blockage from Garry Griff-[problem caused by the airport's wooden snow fence. Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs. Stanton eth re: snow i seconded that the letter be received, filed and referred to the County Road Superintendent blockage I for his comment ne~t we~k. Motion carried. I Proposed incorporr Attorney Jonathan Garaas filed a petition, a census and a map for the proposed at ion of City of .. incorporation of the City of prairie Rose (Lean Estates Subdivision in Section 35, Prairie Rose I Barnes Township). Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the date of election (Lean Estates i for incorporation be set for April 3, 1979, with Mrs. Brenda Carlson to act as Judge Subd) lof the election. Motion carried. i Co. insurance disc. with Bob Rust Mr. Bob Rust reported to the Board Iwill end in August, 1979, and he stated I and they will be analyzing the County's : buildings. I i that the County's 3-year insurance contract that he will be preparing new specifications losses and also re-evaluating the County's give them a cost estimate at budget time. Vouchers apprvd. Vouchers No. 58,655 through 178 be approved and ordered paid. Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting i be approved as written. Botion carried. Snow removal by Co. Rd. Dept. The County Road Superintendent reported that the County Road Department spent $38,000 in January and $66,000 in February for snow removal on County roads. Airport's wooden snow fence again discussed Regarding the copy of a letter received last week from Gary Griffeth concerning the airport's snow fence along County Road 20, Mr. Grindberg stated that the County has been snowplowing that road as much as any other County roads. Mr. Satrom reported that he and Mr. Sondrall talked to Joe Parmer from the Airport Authority and he agreed to cooperate in keeping the road open.
