A letter was received from Mr. August Keller, Superintendent of the West Fargo Public Distrct. req. ISchool District, concerning recommendations of a citizens advisory committee which meeting with Co. istudied the West Fargo School District's transportation system and problems relating Commission to ;to the hazards of Cass County Road No. 17 because it is very narrow, has deep ditches discuss C17 betw.iand many curves. Therefore, the West Fargo Board of Education requested that an evening Horace & W.Fgo. ,meeting be held with the County Commission to allow citizen input on the subject. ',Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs., Wold seconded that the letter from Mr. Keller be received and ifiled and that a letter be written back stating that the County Commission would be ,agreeable to meeting with them and suggesting some evening during the week of !February 5th. Dept. re: IDepartment regarding the 1979 pavement striping prog~am be received, filed and referred pavement stripn~ito the County Road Superintendent. Motion carried. I The Board discussed proposed bills in the Legislature. Committee reports were given. Bridge article in The Forum i Mr. Sondrall publicly thanked Reporter Ellen Crawford for her fine article in !The Forum on January 21st about the need for bridges in Cass County. On motion by Mrs. Wold and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. Upon the recommendation of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mrs. Wold imoved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the bridge between Sections 20-21, Gill TownShip, ibe replaced with a metal pipe arch culvert at a cost of approximately $20,000.00. iMotion carried. Rd. Supt. to for pavement striping at 100% Federal funding apply Mr. Grindberg reported that there are about 350 miles of County road that will be eligible for pavement striping which would be 100% Federally funded according to the letter received last week from Henry Wisness of the State Highway Department. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Mr. Grindberg make application for the 350 miles of pavement striping. Motion carried.
