Upon reviewing his Consultant Contract, approved by the Cass
County Commission, we discovered that this training session was not
covered under the contract. What was covered is training for the First
Line Supervisors in Direct Supervision.

Since Direct Supervision Training is such a critical segment of the
training agenda we are requesting approval of an additional $ 3500.00 to
pay for a qualified instructor to present the eight day training session.
This amount would also cover instructor travel and per diem expenses.

Sheriff

SUGGESTED MOTION:
Move to approve $3,500.00 for a qualified instructor to travel to Cass County and provide two
32-hour training sessions for existing staff on the Principles of Direct Supervision; and that the
funding for the $3,500.00 will be paid from the education line item, #101-3510-422.57-01 in the
2002 jail budget.

211 9th St. S.
Box 488
Fargo, North Dakota 58107.0485
www. co.cass.nd.us/sheriff
