Commission Minutes--August i6, 2000 2169 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS-PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />RECESSED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />MEETING IN BUDGET SESSION <br /> AUGUST 16, 2000 <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Vice Chairman Paul Koenig reconvened the budget meeting at 9:00 AM on August 16, 2000, <br />in the Commission Room, Cass County Courthouse, with three members present as follows: <br />Donna Schneider, Robbie Quick and Paul Koenig. Commissioners Alon Wieland and John <br />Meyer were absent. Also present were County Auditor Michael Montplaisir, County Coordinator <br />Bonnie Johnson, and accountants Deb Ness and Patti Richards. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVIEW <br />Humane Society <br />The preliminary county budget includes $1,000 for The Humane Society, Inc. Lee Morgan, <br />Executive Director, was present to request the Commission's continued support of the program. <br />Commissioners expressed appreciation for the service this agency provides. <br /> <br />Lake Agassiz Arts Council <br />Belinda Vogel, Executive Director of the Lake Agassiz Arts Council, was present to request <br />$2,500 in county funds toward the operating budget of the Arts Council, which is an umbrella <br />organization for 29 art providers in the community. She said this agency works on behalf of all <br />arts organizations in the county and on behalf of all of Cass County's citizens who participate <br />in and enjoy the arts. <br /> <br />Senior Citizens <br />Brian AreA, Executive Director of the Fargo Senior Commission, discussed his agency's budget <br />request of $275,000 for next year. Eight representatives of the Cass County Council on Aging <br />were present, with President Marian Iverson and Treasurer Reuben Braaten explaining their <br />budget request of $69,600 for 15 clubs in rural Cass County. <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> With no further budgets to review today, Mrs. Quick moved and Mrs. <br /> Schneider seconded to recess the meeting at 9:45 AM and reconvene at 8:00 <br /> AM tomorrow, August 17, 2000. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br />/~c"i~l Montpl~isir - Auditor <br />Cass County, North Dakota <br /> <br />Joh~ Meye'rl ~airman <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> <br />
