<br />----- <br /> <br />Road Advisory Minutes--November 15, 2004 <br /> <br />ROAD ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />NOVEMBER 15, 2004--2:15 PM <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Commissioner Scott Wagner, Highway Department Portfolio Commissioner, called a <br />meeting of the Road Advisory Committee to order at 2: 15 PM on Monday, November <br />15, 2004, in the Commission Room, Cass County Courthouse. Members were present <br />as follows: John Meyer, Vern Bennett, Robyn Sorum, Darrell Vanyo, Scott Wagner, <br />Keith Berndt, Rich Sieg, Dennis Rust, Jurgen Suhr and Mark Johnson. Also present <br />was Commissioner-elect Ken Pawluk. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />2005 CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, Reviewed <br />Mr. Berndt reviewed 2005 construction and bridge projects as outlined in a handout <br />provided to committee members at the meeting. He also discussed information from <br />the North Dakota Department of Transportation regarding availability of federal funding. <br /> <br />Mrs. Sorum asked about the possibility of re-shaping and paving County Road 14 in <br />2005 rather than waiting to surface the road in 2006. Mr. Berndt said this may be a <br />possibility; however, he said less settling of pavement appears when a road is graded <br />and then allowed to go through a freeze and thaw cycle before paving. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />CASS COUNTY HIGHWAY 14, Approved to add to county federal aidsvstem <br />Mr. Berndt said currently County Highway 14 from Highway 81 to County Highway 17 is <br />part of the federal aid system. He would like to request the five-mile segment from <br />County Highway15 to County Highway 17 be added to the federal aid system in order to <br />use federal fund allotments for improvements. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Bennett seconded that the County Engineer <br />request the North Dakota Department of Transportation add the five- <br />mile segment of County Highway 14 from County Highway 15 to County <br />Highway 17 to the federal aid system. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner asked that this item be forwarded to the County Commission for <br />ratification on their consent agenda. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />MOTION, passed <br />On motion by Mr. Vanyo, seconded by Mr. Rust, and all voting in <br />favor, the meeting was adjourned at 2:55 PM. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by Heather Worden, Administrative Secretary <br />
