Commission Minutes—August 15, 2012 4045 <br /> Mr. Burdick has a committee of his staff researching options for his office to go paperless. <br /> The preliminary 2013 budget reflects a 2% increase to the Coroner's budget as requested <br /> by the coroner. He has budgeted for a new copier for 2013 and plans to use asset <br /> forfeiture funds for a copier this year. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Bennett moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve 2013 <br /> preliminary budget for the State's Attorney Office as presented. On <br /> roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> The commission took a break at 11:00 AM and reconvened at 11 :15 AM. <br /> 7. RED RIVER VALLEY FAIR ASSOCIATION <br /> Bryan Schulz, General Manager and Jody Buresch, Assistant Manager of the Red River <br /> Valley Fair Association were present. Mr. Schulz provided a brief update on the Red River <br /> Valley Fair, which was held July 10-15, 2012. He said attendance was up and their <br /> organization made a profit this year. They are requesting $100,000 for 2013 compared to <br /> $75,000 approved last year. He said they have increased their camp sites at the <br /> fairground by 8 spots due to increased interest and use. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve $85,000 for <br /> the Red River Valley Fair Association for 2013. On roll call vote, the <br /> motion carried with Mr. Pawluk, Mr. Bennett, Mr. Vanyo and Mr. <br /> Wagner voting in favor. Opposed: Mrs. Sorum. <br /> 8. FIRST LINK <br /> Sheila Borgerding from First Link was present, representing Cindy Miller, Director of First <br /> Link. Their organization is requesting $5,000 for 2013, the same as last year. First Link <br /> assists the county with volunteer coordination during emergencies and has a total budget <br /> of over $600,000. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the 2013 <br /> preliminary budget for First Link in the amount of $5,000. <br /> Discussion: Mr. Wagner thanked First Link for their work in the <br /> community. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> 9. AUDITOR <br /> Auditor Mike Montplaisir presented the 2013 preliminary budget for the Auditor's Office. <br /> He said the proposed budget is a bit lower as 2013 is not an election year, however; <br /> there may be elections that come up. The budget for training and travel is necessary for <br /> continuing education, but the largest line item increase is for software, which includes the <br /> property tax software which will allow increased efficiency in sending tax statements. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the 2013 <br /> preliminary budget for the Auditor's Office. On roll call vote, the <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br />
