<br /> <br />8 <br />“Soil Type” – is the lowest unit in the natural system of soil classification; a <br />subdivision of a soil series and consisting of or describing soils that are alike in <br />all characteristics including the texture of the A Horizon. <br /> <br />“Soil Treatment Area” – is an area where sewage tank effluent is treated <br />and disposed of below the ground surface by filtration and percolation through <br />the soil and also by evapotranspiration, and includes those systems commonly <br />known as seepage bed, trench drain field, disposal field, and also includes <br />mounds and seepage pits. <br /> <br />“State Approved Disposal Facility” – is any disposal facility which has a <br />National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit or State <br />Disposal System Permit or letter of approval from the North Dakota State Health <br />Department and Consolidation Laboratories. <br /> <br />“Standard System” – an individual sewage treatment system employing a <br />sewage tank and the soil treatment system commonly known as seepage bed or <br />trenches, drain field, or leach field. <br /> <br />“Superintendent” – shall mean the Cass County Health Department or its <br />designated official. <br /> <br />“Valve Box” – is any device which can stop sewage tank effluent from flowing <br />to a portion of the soil treatment area and includes, but is not limited to, caps or <br />plugs on distribution or drop box outlets, divider boards, butterfly values, gate <br />valves, or other mechanisms. <br /> <br />“Waste Hauler or Septic Tank Pumper” – is any person who engages in <br />the removal of sewage and/or industrial waste including, but not limited to, those <br />generated by washing machines, kitchens, sinks, from septic tanks, cesspools, <br />holding tanks, or other sewage treatment or disposal facilities and who deposits <br />such materials at some location approved by the ND State Department of Health <br />and Consolidated Laboratories. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
