He feels that the road is more of a hazard since the speed limit was reduced to 40 miles per hour because the people who drive fast do so ! whether the speed limit is 55 or 40. He felt there may be more accidents on that road : because of impeding the natural flow of traffic by reducing the speed limit to 40. i He stated that there are others in the area who are also concerned with the situation as it now exists. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Board approve the following ! applications for renewing County Beer and Liquor Licenses for the year 1979: i Motion carried. ! Roger Herrmann - Wheatland Village (formerly W.A. Lauritsen's) Oxbow Country Club and Estates - Hickson Red River Valley Fair Association (Beer Only) Roger J. Morris (Beer Only) Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Board approve an application for a Gambling Permit for the Chaffee High School Junior Class for a raffle to be held on December 21, 1978. Motion carried. i Upon the recommendation of the Clerk of District Court, Mrs. Stanton moved and Pamela Bryan i Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Pamela Bryan be appointed as a Deputy Clerk for the apptd. Dep. Clerki Referee Office. Motion carried. REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DECEMBER 5, 1978 Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. An Invocation was given by Mrs. Wold. Don and Evelyn Schroeder - Chaffee Ruby Stensrud - Embden James Boisture - Cassel ton The Board set the date of December 20th for making appointments to the Maple River, ,the Southeast Cass, the North Cass and two terms on the Rush River Water Management Boards ifor terms which expire January 1st, and for one term which expires on the School Reorganiza- !tion Committee which will be appointed by the Superintendent of Schools and approved iby the County Board. I Upon the recommendation of Mapleton Township, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Satrom !seconded that the Board appoint Mr. George Libbrecht as a rural member on the [West Fargo Planning Commission to replace Mr. Howard Emerson whose property has been :annexed into the City of West Fargo. Motion carried. Discussion was held on the application for a gambling permit for the Wheatland iRod and Gun Club for December 31st. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded ithat the application be granted. However, the motion and second were withdrawn isince the 31st of December is on Sunday. The Board requested the Auditor to contact ithe applicant regarding the ,date. The Auditor presented bills from the Cass County Road Department in the amount of $10,641.27 for work done for various other County departments. Mrs. Stanton moved and . Satrom seconded that the County Road Department cancel these bills in the amount of $10,641.27 in order to clear their records. Motion carried. On motion by Mr. Sondrall and seconded by Mr. Satrom, the meeting was adjourned.
