<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />5823 <br /> <br />Kathy Hogan from Southeast Mental Health appeared before the Board to make the Board <br />aware of the proposed three bills that will be presented to the legislature. <br /> <br />Discussion was held on the City of Fargo bridge contract. Mrs. Stanton moved that <br />the City of Fargo bridge contract be sent back to the City of Fargo unsigned and accompanied <br />by a letter stating the contract was being returned as it was unacceptable. Motion died <br />for lack of a second. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the County Commissioners <br />support a no vote on the No. 4 Health Care Measure. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that a resolution requesting the <br />cooperation of various railroad companies and governmental agencies in weed control <br />on their property be received and filed, and that a copy be sent to Frank Erdman, <br />County Weed Control Officer, and to Walt Ness, County Agent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A letter was received from the State Highway Department stating Cass County's <br />meeting date is set for November 6th at Valley City regarding the 1979 County Road Program <br />and Bridge Plans. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the Indemnity Bond on Lost ~nstrument <br />for Melvin J. Erlandsen be received and filed and the Auditor be authorized to issue a <br />duplicate check. Wold, Chairman <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING-OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 8, 1978 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting I <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. : <br />, <br /> <br />The County Road Superintendent reported on a meeting in Valley City with the <br />Bureau of Public Roads and the State Highway Department. The State of North Dakota will <br />get about $4,000,000 for bridges, and the Counties have to pay 20% on any approved <br />bridge projects. Cass County has three bridges that have been approved, and bids will be <br />opened in February. <br /> <br />The Board again discussed traffic accidents on County Road 17 between West Fargo <br />and Horace. The Board suggested that some alternatives be taken to alleviate <br />some traffic on the road, and Mr. Scheffler stated that it will help when County Road 16 <br />is paving next spring; and Mr. Satrom suggested paving County Road 6 east to Interstate 29. <br /> <br />Mr. Lowell Siebels appeared before the Board regarding culverts in township ditches <br />in Berlin Township which are blocked and are creating a water problem a mile west of <br />Interstate 29 along County Road 32. The Board agreed to drive out and look at the area. <br /> <br />Upon the request of the City of Harwood, Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded <br />that Mr. Fred M. Cory be appointed from the City of Harwood's ~-mile extra territorial <br />area to the Harwood Planning and Zoning Commission.
