Motion carried. <br /> <br />I in <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Satrom and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 1978 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />C31 bridge <br />discussed <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting: <br />Ibe approved as written. Motion carried. <br />I <br />prjct.' Concerning the County Road 31 bridge project, the County Road Superintendent reported <br />!that it was the Argusville School Bus that was using the temporary construction bridge, <br />II and they have decided to no longer use the temporary structure after talking with the <br />,Moore Engineering Company and the contractor. <br />l <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom to I Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Mr. Satrom be authorized to sign <br />sign documents the documents on behalf of the County at the State Highway Department bid letting in Bismarck <br />at St. bid lettn~on Friday for the County Road 16 project. Motion carried. <br />i <br />i <br /> <br />Delegation from <br />Mapleton re: <br />CIO <br /> <br />A delegation from the Mapleton area appeared before the Board regarding the poor <br />; condition of CountY'Road 10 from Mapleton to West Fargo. Concern was expressed since <br />[this is a school bus route. Mr. Scheffler stated that the road can be graveled yet this fall, <br />iand Mrs. Wold suggested that the County reassess their priorities on the proposed 5-year <br />iroad construction program. Mr. Norbert Frank presented petitions for the regrading and <br />I hard surfacing of this road. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the : <br />Ipet~tions,be received and filed, and tha~ the matter be,referred to the CountY,Road De~artment <br />ito ~nvestlgate the cost and when the proJect could poss~bl~ be scheduled. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Application for Abatement and <br />for 1976 & 1977 i Settlement of Taxes for Lyle Thompson for the year 1976 be granted as submitted. <br />I Motion carried. , <br /> <br />I Upon the recommendation of Mr. Miller, Mr. Hendr~ckson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded <br />! that the Application for Abatement and Settlement of Taxes for Lyle Thompson for the year <br />i 1977 be granted as submitted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Abate. for Paul: An Application for Abatement and Settlement of Taxes for the year 1977 was received <br />R. Schanno of i from Paul R. Schanno who recently purchased Flavorland Beef Industries in Barnes Township. <br />Flavorland Beef Upon the recommendation of the County Director of Tax Equalization, Mr. Hendrickson moved <br />Ind.--Co. req. I and Mr. Satrom seconded that the County Commission request the North Dakota Tax Department <br />assistance from i to assist the County in making a review and reappraisal of this property, since the <br />St. Tax Dept. in I requested reduction,is ~ery larg~ and wo~ld have a serious financial effect on the <br />making reapprais.iWest Fargo School D~str~ct. Mot~on carr~ed. <br />I <br />Gordon Sletmoe! Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Cass County Disaster <br />apptd. Vice Pres.' Emergency Services Director, Gordon Sletmoe, be authorized to accept his appointment <br />of State Assn. I as Vice President of the State Association for Disaster Emergency Service Directors <br />for DES Directorsiwith the Board's congratulations on his appointment. Motion carried. <br />I <br />! Mr. Sletmoe reported on a State-wide exercise to be conducted by County Disaster <br />i Emergency Services Directors. One phase of the exercise requires the participation <br />[of County Commissioners, and the Board set the date for October 4th at 1:00 P.M. in <br />! the DES Conference Room. <br /> <br />! Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be authorized <br />I to sign the agreement with the City of Kindred for participating in a County-wide <br />i disaster agency. Motion carried. <br />I <br /> <br />i Upon the request of Mr. Tom Jensen, County Social Services Director, Mr. Hendrickson <br />!moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Mr. Jensen be authorized additional spending for <br />I continued operation of the Nokomis Day Care Center for the months of October, November <br />I. and December; which will be reimbursed by the State Social Services along with funds <br />, raised by the Nokomis Day Care Center.
