Motion carried. <br />! <br />i Upon the recommendation of the County Road Superintendent, Mr. Hendrickson moved and <br />!Mr. Satrom seconded that the bid for surfacing County Road 10 from Tower City to <br />State Highway 38 be awarded to Concrete Specialties, the low bidd~r. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Road near Village: After investigating the road near the village of St. Benedict as discussed last week, <br />of St. Benedict the County Road Superintendent suggested regrading the road next spring and he stated that <br />to be regraded !the people in the area have agreed to cut the trees that are necessary to slope the road. <br />next spring jMr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Road Department proceed with regrading <br />!County Road 21 from St. Benedict south to County Road 16. Motion carried. <br />I <br />Corres. from i Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Board receive and file <br />Atty. Twichell Reithe correspondence from Attorney Daniel Twichell concerning Adrian Sauvageau's request <br />Adrian Sauvageau I for a culvert in the SE corner of Section 31 on the Horace road. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Sondrall to! Mr. Sondrall was appointed to serve on" the County Canvassing Board which meets on <br />serve on Canvass. !Friday, September 8th, to canvass the Primary Election Returns. <br />Board i <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County Auditor be authorized <br />ito negotiate up to $14!000.00 for 35 used voting machines from the City of Moorhead. <br />!Motion carried. <br />i <br />I <br />Plat of Atonementi . Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />1st Addn. apprvd'l the Plat of Atonement 1st Addition in Section 36, Barnes Township. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Disc. on police! Discussion was held on the County Sheriff's Department providing police protection <br />protection to 'to the rural subdivisions and incorporated cities as well as unincorporated cities in the <br />rural areas icounty. After expressing various points of view, it was decided that the Board should study <br />I the matter further. Irv Rustad from the Lake Agassiz Regional Council suggested that the <br />I Board consult with Mr. Virgil Mueller, Criminal Justice Planner for the Lake Agassiz <br />'Council; and it was decided that Mr. Mueller should appear before the Board next Wednesday <br />[to address this matter. <br />I <br />Grant Appl. to i Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded _ that the Chairman be authorized <br />LEC for Criminal ito s,ign the grant application to the North Dakota Law Enforcement Council on behalf of <br />Justice Planning ithe Lake Agassiz Regional Council for Criminal Justice Planning funds. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Hearing cont. on I The Board continued the hearing from August 23rd on the application of <br />D & B FabricatorslD & B Fabricators, Inc. for a 5-year'property tax exemption. Official notice was given <br />appl. for 5-year ,to t~e two com~etitors~ Ehrich's Manufacturing and K & K Co~structi?n Company, that ~he <br />t x exemption-- Ihear~ng was be~ng cont~nued today; but no one appeared to g~ve test~mony at the hear~ng. <br />a~proved for 100%'1', Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Board approve the Application <br />for a 100% 5-Year Property Tax Exemption for D & B Fabricators, Inc. The motion carried <br />Ion a roll call.-vote with all members voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Chrn. auth. to I Upon the request of the Sheriff's Department and the ,States Attorney, Mrs. Stanton <br />' 2 f rm Imoved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the two forms <br />~~I~ing ~EA~ Iwaiving that portion of LEAA Block Grant Funds to cover the cost of criminal justice <br />Block Grant Fundsltraining sponsored by the North Dakota Law Enforcement Council. Motion carried. <br /> <br />D's n County I Representatives of the Fargo Municipal Airport Authority appeared before the Board <br />~ ~i ?p ting in ! and discussion was held on whether the County would be interested in becoming a part of a <br />~ar Oc~Uaicipal ! Regional Airport Authority. Mr. Paul Gallagher, Chairman of the Fargo Airport Authority, <br />A~rgo t ~uth istated that they hope to involve the City of Moorhead and Clay County also. Mrs. Wold <br />~rp r . : stated that if the County were in favor of this, the Commission would need to know <br />'what it would mean to the County financially. The County Auditor stated that there is <br />la provision in the law for the County to join an airport authority and to levy up to a <br />!maximum of 4 mills. Mr. Gallagher suggested that the Chairman appoint someone from the <br />!County Board to sit in on discussions with the Airport Authority, and Mr. Hendrickson' <br />I asked the Chairman to delay the appointment for a few days. <br /> <br />! Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Chairman be authorized <br />ito sign the Federal Revenue Sharing Statement of Assurances for Entitlement Period 10. <br />!Motion carried. <br />i' <br />I <br />Vouchers apprvd. t Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Vouchers No. 53,555 through <br />INO. 54,276 be approved and ordered paid.
