Use Plan <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad also mentioned that if the County wishes to apply for Federal funds for the II Lake Agassiz disc. <br />,proposed solid waste shredding operation, the Lake Agassiz Regional Council will assist ,appl. for Fed. <br />'in preparing the application as the time for. filing is between May 1st and May 15th. ifunds for solid <br />Iwaste <br /> <br />iRed Cross Represer <br />itative explained <br />Itheir services <br /> <br />IAPPt. to Gardner <br />Izoning Commission <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Iosbaker from the Minn-Kota Chapter of the Red Cross outlined their services <br />to' disaster victims, and he stated that they are in very close cooperation with the <br />,Cass County Disaster Emergency Services Director. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the City of Gardner, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />,seconded that Lewis Barker be appointed to the City of Gardner Zoning Commission. <br />:Motion carried. <br /> <br />The term of John Nilles on the Southeast Mental Health Board expires April 1, 1978, <br />and the Board will make the appointment next week. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Application for Abatement and <br />Settlement of Taxes submitted by Donald and Lloyd Murch be received, filed and referred <br />to the City of Hunter. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the following Monthly Reports for <br />February be received and filed: Motion carried. <br /> <br />Rush River Water Management District <br />North Cass Water Management District <br />Maple River Water Management District <br />Southeast Cass Water Management District <br />Cass County Veterans Service <br /> <br />A letter was received from the Burlington Northern Railroad Company informing the <br />,Commission that Burlington Northern has programmed the installation of automatic <br />'crossing signals with gates on County Road 24 in the City of Riverside for the same time <br />as those will be installed at 12th Avenue North. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondall <br />seconded that the letter from Burlington Northern be received and filed. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Committee reports were given. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Stanton and seconded by Mr. Sondrall, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MARCH 29, 1978 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Satrom and four members were present, <br />Mrs. Wold being absent. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Roger Fenstad from the Moore Engineering Company reported that the bridge on <br />County Road 31 will be on the May 19th letting of the State Highway Department. He stated <br />that they received the slope analysis study from the State, and they agreed with the <br />bridge design by Moore Engineering but they did suggest moving the bridge north 50' <br />which Mr. Fenstad stated will be beneficial. . <br /> <br />The County Road Superintendent reported on a water problem along County Road 5, <br />and several persons were present. In rebuilding County Road 5, the County is being <br />requested not to build the grade any higher than it presently is even after the asphalt. <br />They stated that when the water gets high and if it cannot get over the road, it will flood <br />their houses and other buildings. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that <br />this matter be delayed for a week or two, the Board to view the area and to study the <br />proposed agreement on the height of the graded highway. G. Poulson of Letter from H. G. <br />Wheatland expressing their appreciation to County Road Department employees for their assis- Poulson's for <br />tance with a water problem that could have caused extensive damage to their home and property Road Dept.'s help <br />They further stated that they feel there should be a reassessment of the drain profile during a water <br />east of Chaffee as they feel the bridge on County Road 6 is too small. Mr. Hendrickson crises--they feel <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that this letter be included in the records, and that the bridge on C6 is <br />Board also commends the County Road Department.
