I Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Commission take no action pn the proposed solid waste agreement between the Cities' of Fargo, West Fargo and ~ass County until each Commissioner has received a copy of the agreement as approved by the Fargo City Commission; no action to be taken by the 'County Commission until khe next full Board is present. The motion carried with Mrs. Wold opposing. Estimates to I Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the following estimates Jail Contractors Fe paid to the Jail contractors: Mo'tion carried. I Dakota Electric Construction Co. $ 7,666.00 I J. E. Krieg & Sons $15,762.00 I A letter was received from the law firm of Vogel, Vogel, Brantner and Kelly representing the City of Gardner, which will be adopting a Comprehensive Zoning Plan ~nd establishing a Zoning Commission. One member is to be appointed by the County Commission Ifrom the rural area one mile outside the City of Gardner. They recommended the appointment pf Mr. Lewis Barker. The matter will be placed on the Commission agenda for next week ro make the appointment. I The Auditor received a letter from the Fargo-Moorhead "Y" Men's Club requesting ~o change their gambling permit during the week of the Red .River Valley Fair from just Bingo I'to Bingo and expanded gambling rights. The States Attorney stated that they should be more specific, and the Commissioners stated that they should be informed of the legal games nf chance and which are illegal. The Auditor stated that he will ask them to submit a Inew application and suggest that they first have it approved by the Red River Valley Fair Association. I Letter to Governo~ Due to the present flood outlook, Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded req. prel. I I I I The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Satrom with three members present, IMrs. Wold and Mr. Hendrickson being absent. I , I I Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that tpe minutes of the previous meeting I'be approved as written. Motion carried. Quit Claim Deeds Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be authorized with St. Hwy. Dpt, to sign the Quit Claim Deeds for transfer of road right of way between the County and for R/W transfer Ithe State Highway Department. Motion carried. DES Director . Gordon Sletmoe, Disaster Emergency Services Director, asked for assistance in reports on Idistributing sandbags to the people purchasing them. He stated that the sandbags are sandbags for inow distributed at the County Road Department Shop, but they close at 4:00 P.M. flood I 'He requested that a load of sandbags be brought in to the Disaster Emergency Services parking lot, and that someone from the County Road Department be in charge of the Idistribution after Mr. Sletmoe sells them. The Board asked that this be delayed lone week, and Mr. Sondrall suggested that the three Courthouse maintenance men be !at Mr. Sletmoe's call for the time being. District Court I District Court Judge John Garaas appeared before the Board requesting that the Judge Garaas aSksl'District Courts be allowed to use the County Commission Room on a full-time basis to use Co. Comm. starting April 3rd due to the backlog of cases in the First Judicial District. He stated Room on a full- I that there will be three District Judges operating in the Courthouse starting April 3rd, time basis to land it is expected that the Governor will appoint a replacement for Judge Maxwell hold Court !around the 1st of May. Judge Garaas suggested that the Commissioners hold their meetings i in the Conference Room of the Disaster Emergency Services building, but Mr. Sletmoe stated ithat the Army Corp of Engineers has already set up offices in the Conference Room to :monitor the flood outlook. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman IOf the County Commission, the County Auditor, Judge Garaas and the States Attorney I investigate the matter and report back to the Board next Wednesday. Motion carried.
