Annual I Sheriff Jack Dailey presented his Annual Report for 1977. No copy was filed with the <br />Report County Auditor. <br /> <br />Shff. presented I Sheriff Dailey also presented a proposed contract with the City of Fargo for housing <br />contract for I their prisoners when the County Jail is reopened. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom <br />boarding of pris-I,iseconded that the Board meet with the Sheriff's Department to arrive at new figures <br />oners when jail for the boarding of prisoners in the County Jail. Motion carried. The Board meeting <br />is re-opened IWill be continued at 1:30 P.M. today to meet with the Sheriff's ~epartment. <br /> <br />Furniture for Jai~ Glenn Ellingsburg appeared before the Board regarding grant requests for tables and <br />to be purchased I' chairs for the Attorney Conference Rooms and for tables and stools for the Day Room area <br />from Revenue I in the Jail. He was informed that the Law Enforcement Council has no funds available at thi <br />Sharing funds I time for the furniture. The estimated cost of the tables and stools for the Day Room is <br />1$3,700, as it is a Federal standard that they must be galvanized steel or stainless steel <br />land they must be attached to the floor. The estimated cost of the furniture for the <br />!three Attorney Conference Rooms is $350.00. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson <br />i seconded that the County purchase the furniture for the Day Room and the Attorney <br />I Conference Rooms, the money to be paid from Revenue Sharing. Motion carried. <br />i <br />SE Mental Health !, Mr. Ellingsburg also stated that when the Jail is re-opened, the Southeast Mental <br />Center permitted I Health and Retardation Center will be establishing a Public Inebriate Program in the <br />to install a jail addition. In order to meet State Health requirements, there must be additional <br />glass block win- . natural lighting in this space and the Southeast Mental Health Center has requested <br />dow in jail addn.1permission to install a glass block window on the south end of the jail addition. <br />at their expense-1Mr. Hendrickson moved- and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Board authorize the installation <br />St. Atty. remindslof a glass block window for the Southeast Mental Health Center, at their expense. <br />Bd. of space req. The States Attorney reminded the Board that there was mention of space being made <br />by Co. Coroner available to the County Coroner. BN <br />to install auto. <br />signal lights at <br />2 crossings <br /> <br />Ralph Cameron Mr. Ralph Cameron asked several questions about the proposed solid waste disposal <br />asked questions plan. Mrs. Wold stated that this will be a County-wide system but the garbage pick-up <br />on the solid waste will remain the same as in the past, except that the garbage will first be shredded <br />plan I before being dumped in a landfill. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Vouchers apprvd. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Vouchers No. 48373 through <br />No. 49022 and Revenue Sharing Vouchers No. 151 through No. 154 be approved and ordered paid. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Plat of Communi-ty <br />Baptist Church <br />Subd. approved <br /> <br />Contract prices <br />set for boarding <br />of prisoners & ! <br />contracts to run I <br />until July 1, '78~ <br />at which time I <br />they may be <br />reviewed I <br /> <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Hendrickson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was recessed <br />until 1:30 P.M. to meet with the Sheriff's Department. <br /> <br />All members were present at 1:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Plat of Community Baptist Church <br />Subdivision in Barnes Township be approved and the Chairman be authorized to sign the plat. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion was held with Sheriff Jack Dailey, Chief Deputy Donald Rudnick and <br />Glenn Ellingsburg from the Jail on the contract for boarding of prisoners in the <br />County Jail when it is re-opened. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County charge $15.00 <br />per day per prisoner for boarding Federal, State and out-of-county prisoners. Motion carrie, <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County charge $10.00 per day <br />per prisoner for boarding Cass County prisoners. The motion carried with Mr. Sondrall <br />opposing because he feels it is too high. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the contracts for boarding of <br />prisoners shall be in effect until July 1, 1978, at which time they may be reviewed. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Stanton and seconded by Mr. Satrom, the meeting was adjourned. <br />
