There is no indicated overall change for the agricultural or commercial assessments. Residential assessments will increase 10% on average due to a strong market. Normally, the order of business is to review the assessments of the cities and townships and to hear any appeals. Due to the considerable changes made to the assessment this year, those rolls will not be ready for review on the 7th. It is my recommendation to hear any individual appeals and then recess until June 21 st Commission meeting. In the interim, I will investigate the individual appeals and provide a recommendation to the Board. Also, the overall residential assessment outside the cities of Fargo and West Fargo is not in compliance with the State Board of Equalization guidelines. It will be necessary to raise the assessments for certain townships and cities. Some individual increases may also be warranted. I will be making recommendations to the board on which assessments to increase. Suggested Motion: "I move that the Board of Equalization recess until June 21st and that the Director of Equalization provide recommendations regarding the individual appeals and to provide recommendations regarding any necessary changes to the assessment rolls."
