In the past, the
Commission allowed the sale of computer equipment to county employees on a
bid process under County Commission Policy 14.80, however, this method
resulted in extra work for the Information Technology Department to administer
the bid process, prepare computers for sale and distribution, as well as additional
work for the Auditor and Treasurer's Offices for the collection of payment. The
revenue received from the sale is minimal compared to the man-hours expended
during the sale process.

The Cass County Commission has approved, in the past, the donation of used
computer equipment to local charitable organizations.

SUGGESTED MOTION:
Move to authorize the Information Technology Department to donate obsolete
computer equipment to FirstLink (suicide prevention/crisis intervention agency).

Enc
