Like previous years, we have prepared a proposal requesting the
continuation of the program for the federal fiscal year October 1, 2009 to September
30, 2010. The proposal needs Cass County Commission support. The Cass County
Extension Service proposal is combined with proposals from other North Dakota
counties. The combined proposal will be forwarded to the Food and Nutrition
Services (FNS) branch of the USDA by July 1, 2009 for consideration. The County
Support Agreement is attached to this request for your review.
The success of this program depends on a close working relationship with staff and
clients of several local agencies. Michelle Strang and Doreen McFarland are the
Cass County Extension Service staff members with job responsibilities for this
program.
This year's proposal commits primarily in-kind resources from Cass County and
Fargo Public Schools. The only cash resources committed from Cass County are a
phone line, copying of program materials and expendable office supplies. These
resources are identified on the County Support Agreement.
If you have question about this, I'll be happy to visit with you.
Suggested motion is:
Move that the Cass Coun!}~ Commission support the Family N~u~,t/rition Program
county proposal for continuation of the program from October 1, 20~ to September 30,
~Ar pending proposal acceptance by State and Federal partners.
c~.ola~
GOV~ERN~ ENT,
County Commissions, North Dakota State University and U.S. Department of Agriculture Cooperating
„~,~,,, NDtiI! is nn equnl opportunity instihition
