RECEIVED
FEB 2: 2009

MEMO

CMSCOUNIY--1N1OH

TO: Cass County Commission

FROM: Chip Ammerman, Director
Social Services

DATE: February 24, 2009

SUBJECT: Pop Machine in Social Services

---------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------

For the past 13 years (1996), the Cass County Annex has had a pop machine on the 2nd
floor landing on the west side staircase. This pop machine had been maintained by
social service employees for the past 10 years (1999) by stocking, paying for the
delivered pop and depositing the rest in a County Credit Union. The maintenance of the
pop machine and the monies by employees will be discontinued as of the end of
February. These arrangements were not previously approved by the board with the
intent of this motion being to correct the oversight and be consistent with County
practice.

Proposed Motion:
Move to approve depositing $1,111 from Social Service pop fund to the Social Service
"Donation" line item.

Proposed Motion:
Move to approve contract with Coca Cola Company to operate a pop machine in Social
Services.
