ND DOT email from Bryon Fuchs dated February 19
2. Stimulus Funding List by County
3. County Engineer Stimulus funding discussion and
options

I received the enclosed email from the State DOT yesterday outlining the
availability of Stimulus Funds for Counties. I'm seeking the Commission's
authorization to affirm to the Department of Transportation that we intend
to complete both of our planned stimulus projects.

I recommend we continue to proceed with the projects as planned even
though there are still a number of uncertainties and budget risks. I've
enclosed an outline that provides more detail on the options and associated
risks. I would like to make certain the Commission understands that if we
proceed with both projects as recommended, a Highway Department budget
overrun will likely occur. It is also likely that there would be higher than
budgeted revenues to offset the overrun.

SUGGESTED' MOTION: Authorize County Engineer to res~nd to the
North Dakota Department of Transportation February 19, 20~ ,~mail
questions as follows: 1.!1.,..0

1. Yes - Cass County plans to complete the Cass 4 Overlay and
Cass 7 Structure project using stimulus funding.
2. We anticipate the stimulus funding will be enough to fully fund
the Cass 7 Structure and at least $888,000 of the Cass 4 overlay
project. Cass County will provide local funds to cover the
balance of the Cass 4 project.
3. Final design documents are complete for both projects and we
request that the projects be scheduled for the earliest possible bid
openmg.

J:\Admin.Eng\C<lmmis!lion Cornp\1009 (\'mmisoion Com:"pondem:e\FebrlllUY 20 Slimulus Rcwmrnendation memo,dnl:
