Project Relation to Surface Transportation:

Function: The project creates a visual buffer between residential areas along the
roadway making it not only a more pleasing road to drive on, but also creating
shade, reducing runoff and erosion, and shelter for wildlife. There is also
considerable development on this busy road and the road will at some point in the
future require expansion. The presence of a well place tree buffer will help to
make a future expansion project more acceptable to adjacent developments.

Proximity: The trees will be planted within highway right of way, however at a
distance far enough out to allow for expansion of the roadway without having to
remove the trees.

Impact: The positive impacts of trees include shade, shelter, environmental, and
visual. There are no negative impacts to the roadway associated with this project.

11.
