<br />" C~((evvb ~o I\-~" <br /> <br />CASS COUNTY <br />PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL <br /> <br />7.60 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: INCLEMENT WEATHER <br /> <br />EFFECTIVE DATE: FEBRUARY 6, 2006 <br /> <br />PAGE 1 OF 1 <br /> <br />In the event of hazardous weather, the Sheriff or his designee may delay <br />opening of County offices from 2-4 hours. Where it appears that closure <br />of County offices for the full day is prudent, the Sheriff or his designee <br />will contact at least two Commissioners, one of whom shall be the Chairman <br />or Vice Chairman if available, and upon their concurrence, the Sheriff or <br />his designee may close County offices. <br /> <br />When the Sheriff has delayed opening or closed County offices early or for <br />the day, he shall notify local media prior to 7:00 A.M. The following <br />media will be notified by the Sheriff: <br /> <br />Radio: <br /> <br />KFGO <br />KVOX <br />WDAY <br />KQWB <br /> <br />TV: <br /> <br />KVLY <br />KXJB <br />WDAY <br /> <br />If the courthouse is closed by the Sheriff, all salaried employees will be <br />paid as usual. However, hourly employees will not be paid for hours not <br />worked. If salaried employees come to the courthouse to work on a day the <br />courthouse has been officially designated as closed, overtime hours will <br />not accrue and no extra compensation will be granted. Sheriff's <br />Department and Road Department emergency personnel, who are authorized by <br />their department head to work during inclement weather, will receive extra <br />compensation (compensatory time) on an hour for hour basis to be used at a <br />later time. <br />
