The segment of the project near the <br />County Highway Department is currently outside the city limits of West <br />Fargo. The DOT has proposed that the State and City share the <br />construction costs within the City on a 91 % Federal/State 9% City basis. <br />They have further proposed that the DOT would fund 100% of the highway <br />cost outside of the City limits. They have asked the County to fund 19% of <br />the cost of the associated multi-use trail outside of the City limits adjacent <br />to the County Highway Department and Fairgrounds and to assume <br />maintenance responsibilities for this segment of trail. I don't have a <br />detailed estimate from the DOT of the costs, but would estimate our share <br />to be in the $20,000 to $40,000 range. The construction ofthis part of the <br />project will be scheduled to take place in 2015. <br /> <br />The Department of Transportation has requested that the County sign the <br />enclosed memorandum of understanding outlining the project <br />responsibilities.
