<br />Commission Minutes-September 15, 2008 3419 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />SEPTEMBER 15, 2008 <br /> <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br />Chairman Ken Pawluk called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Scott Wagner, Robyn Sorum, Vern Bennett and Ken Pawluk. Darrell Vanyo was <br />absent. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Ken Pawluk led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the consent <br />agenda as follows: Discussion: Mr. Bennett asked why initially the jail <br />special assessments were $19,000 higher than the bill submitted for <br />approval today. County Auditor Michael Montplaisir said initially the <br />county's bill appeared to be calculated using square footage figures <br />while surrounding properties were calculated using front footage figures. <br />After some discussions with the City of Fargo Special Assessment <br />Office, specials for all properties in the area were re-calculated using <br />front footage figures and the bill for the county was reduced. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />a. Authorize special assessment payoff in the amount of $11,264.94 for <br />an overlay project along 34th Street and 4th Avenue South in Fargo from <br />the Jail Sales Tax Fund. <br />b. Approve omitted assessments according to notices sent to property <br />owners by the county auditor. <br />c. Receive monthly financial statement from the Auditor's Office for the <br />month ended August 31,2008. <br />d. Approve a special event permit for Jack Nick LLC d/b/a The <br />Knickerbocker Liquor Locker for September 26, 2008, during the hours <br />of 6:00 PM to 1 :00 AM for a private party and dance to be held at the <br />Hickson Community Center in Hickson, North Dakota. <br />e. Approve acting pay for Cindy Stoick in the Personnel Office, according <br />to Cass County Personnel Policy 7.20. <br />f. Authorize the chairman to sign the annual road maintenance <br />certification for county federal aid projects. <br />
