<br />Board of County Commissioners <br />September 4, 2008 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Fund Reserves: <br /> <br />As you can see by reviewing the attached Budget / Levy Summary, the 2009 budget <br />would leave reserve balances of most funds adequate for the start of budgeting for <br />2010. <br /> <br />The attached schedules show the revised Budget / Levy Summary 2009, the budget <br />hearing notification as published in The Forum on August 25, 2008, and a summary of <br />the changes made by the County Commission. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />~~L/;?r-f;~ <br /> <br />Michael Montplaisir, CPA <br />County Auditor <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Move to approve the 2009 Cass County Budget in the amount of $53,496,755 and a <br />mill levy of 61.00 mills for General and Special Revenue Funds of the county, 2.00 mills <br />for the Weed Control District, 1.00 mill for the Vector Control District, .35 mills for the <br />County Park District, 3.40 mills for the Southeast Cass Water Resource District, and <br />4.00 mills for the Rush River, Maple River, and North Cass Water Resource Districts, <br />and 1.00 mill for the Red River Joint Water Resource District. <br /> <br />Subsequent to the individual budget approvals, Chairman Pawluk requested the <br />Sheriff's Department and Road Department look at their fuel budgets to see if there <br />was any room for reductions based on current fuel prices. The motion below reflects a <br />$25,000 reduction in the Sheriff's budget and $100,000 reduction in the Road <br />Department budget. Based on their emails attached.
