The State has
identified this as an important safety item. The State DOT will use Federal funds for
90% of the cost. I've proposed splitting the local cost with the City of Harwood. The
total estimated cost of the project is $148,163. The local cost would be $14,816 of
which I'm suggesting Cass County pay 50% (approximately $7,000)

SUGGESTED MOTION: AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN CONTRACT
WITH THE NORTH DAKOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO
INSTALL AUTOMATED SIGNALS AT THE RAIROAD CROSSING IN TED
A VENUE IN HARWOOD.

J:\Admin-Eng\Commission Corrsp\2008 Commission Correspondence\Contract Approval Harwood RR crossing. doc
