<br />Commission Minutes-August 7, 2008 3400 <br /> <br />The program generates a large portion of their revenue from contracted services with cities <br />and subdivisions and she anticipates the same revenues from cities next year. <br /> <br />Commissioners thanked Ms. Balint and her staff for their work. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the 2009 <br />preliminary budget for Vector Control as submitted. Discussion: Mr. <br />Bennett and Mr. Vanyo said they have received compliments from <br />the public about the director and her staff. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />7. PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br />Mr. Berndt said the 2009 preliminary budget is $75,003 compared to $75,831 in 2008. Mr. <br />Pawluk asked about $2,500 for travel and per diem and noted only $1,529 out of the $2,500 <br />budgeted for this year has been spent. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to remove $1,000 from <br />the travel line item for the Planning Department. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the 2009 <br />preliminary budget for the Planning Department as amended. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8. LAKE AGASSIZ REGIONAL COUNCIL <br />Irv Rustad, Director of Lake Agassiz Regional Council, was present. He stated they are <br />requesting $15,000 for 2009, the same as last year. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the 2009 <br />preliminary budget for the Lake Agassiz Regional Council. On roll <br />call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. FARGO SENIOR COMMISSION, CASS COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING <br />Brian Arett, Executive Director of the Fargo Senior Commission, and Marge Fee, President of <br />Cass County Council on Aging, were present. The Fargo Senior Commission request for <br />2009 is for one mill with matching funds to be received from the state. He discussed different <br />services provided to the elderly as well as different revenue sources that help fund their <br />programs. Their goal is to continue serving senior citizens effectively and efficiently. <br /> <br />Mrs. Fee said rural senior clubs have been affected by rising gas prices and meetings are <br />held every other month to help alleviate the costs associated with travel to meetings. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the 2009 <br />preliminary budget for the Fargo Senior Commission and for the <br />Cass County Council on Aging. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
