Most of which was
replaced by new equipment around the County this year. In the past the Commission
allowed the sale of computer equipment to county employees on a bid process under
County Commission Policy 14.80, however this method resulted in extra work for the
Information Technology Department to administer the bid process, prepare computers for
sale and distribution as well as additional work for the Auditor and Treasurers offices for
the collection of payment. The revenue received from the sale is minimal compared to
the man-hours expended during the sale process.

The Cass County Commission has approved in the past the donation of used computer
equipment to local charitable organizations.

SUGGESTED MOTION:
Move to authorize the Information Technology Department to donate obsolete computer
equipment to the Red River Genealogical Society and Intemet Seniors

Terry Schmaltz
Cass County IT Manager

Box 2806
211 Ninth Street South
Fargo, North Dakota 58103

Fax 701-241-5728

www. casscounWgov.com
